Chandy Polytechnic College was inaugurated in July, 2005 with the following courses.

The annual intake for the course of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was increased to 120 in the year 2007 making the total annual intake of candidates to 300. The Institution maintained its standard and discipline in imparting technical education to the aspirants and earned the reputation of one of the well managed private Polytechnic College in Thoothukudi District. The Trust on its part have taken appropriate efforts to expand the Institution by adding two more courses in the year 2008 to meet the increasing need of multi – faceted Industrial Sector.

With the above, the annual intake was increased to the optimum level of 420 and the total strength during the current academic year has exceeded 1000.
The first batch of the students came out in April, 2008 and the percentage pass in 85%. Out of 203 students passed out from the Institution 140 have secured placements in campus interviews and many have gone for higher studies. Now the Institute is taking steps to get quality certification under ISO and accreditation which is a requisite to go for further expansion.
Besides academic activities, four clubs are functioning in the Polytechnic College Department wise. They are: ELECTRIX (Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering), CITADEL (Faculty of Civil Engineering); SPACE (Faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering); UNIVERSAL (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering). They periodically conduct inter seminar and student education development classes for improving the students.
Added to the above, a Social welfare club and a N.S.S. Unit are functioning in the College for the benefit of the students. Chandy Polytechnic College is also participating in the activities of Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project (CIICP) in developing and organizing training courses.
